In the chilly Warriors' den at the edge of the hollowed out hill laid a semi-content she-cat -- or rather, a huddled up mass of speckled grey fur at the moment. Specklepelt looked out at the cloudy grey sky, watching little flakes of snow fall to the ground. She thought to herself idly, of Snailstar, of the other cats in the clan. How was she going to usurp and take authority for herself? She didn't know yet. All she could do was watch, and watch, and watch the other cats, looking at the way they walked, at the way they spoke for any weaknesses. Those with their head low when they moved, they weren't confident. Those who hesitated, were often scared of being rejected. She knew this and she was going to use that to her advantage, but for now...
She had to relax. She was alone now. Nothing could get her now.
"Well, well, well, this is interesting... for once no one is bothering me... for good reason, too... they're all too busy toying with each other," she thought to herself, wistfully gazing over to a passing flurry of snow. A low, satisfied purr rose from her throat, and she shut her eyes with content. Her mind flicked to Snailstar, and how they seemed so... self-important and haughty -- at least to her, anyway. The very arrogance of that damned cat made her gag, and interrupted her train of thought.
"Calm down... They can't read your mind..." Slowly, she let the tension ease out of herself. Sometimes it felt like they very damn well could read her mind. After all, with an icy blue gaze like that, one would think those eyes would bore straight into their soul.
Specklepelt's tail flicked, and she laid her head in her paws, silently awaiting the return of a warrior, any warrior. She couldn't stand idly waiting when she could be gathering information to fuel her eventual ascent to power.
"...By any means necessary."
